Цель: Ознакомление со страной изучаемого
языка, делая акцент на население и промышленности Канады.
Задачи: расширение
социокультурных и лингвострановедческих знаний о Канаде; формирование речевых
навыков, обеспечивающих познавательно-коммуникативные потребности учащихся;
развитие лингвострановедческой компетенции учащихся;развитие умений
анализировать и сравнивать сведения и факты родной и иноязычной культуры;
развитие устойчивого интереса к изучению английского языка; способствовать
воспитанию у детей понимания и уважения к другой культуре; способствовать
обогащению внутреннего мира учащихся.

• Organization moment.
- Good morning, dear friends! I’m glad to see you. Welcome to English
lesson! How are you today? Sit down, please. Now let’s begin our lesson.

- I’d like to pay your attention on the screen and answer my question: What
country would you like to travel today? But I’d like to visit Canada and we
have a real opportunity to visit Canada today, because today we continue to

- And now I’d like to tell you some more interesting facts about Canada.
-Canada is the second largest
country in the world. Only Russia has a greater land area. Canada is situated
on the north of Northern America, washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the east, the
Pacific Ocean in the west. Itis a federationof 10 provincesand 3 territories.
Every province and every
territory has its own national symbol. Ottawa is the national capital and an
emerging centre of high-technology research. The capital was called Ottawa
after the tribe of Odaawaa. Its population is about 880,000 people. The
population of Canada is about 29 million people. The aboriginal people or First
Nations had lived there for thousands of years before the Europeans came.
People of different nationalities live in Canada. There are 2 official
languages: English and French.

resources? Lets read about industry of
Canada
Canada is rich in metal ores,
oil and gas, and the metal, machine-building, motor car and ship-building
industries are highly developed. The hydro-electric industry is highly
developed, its main centres are in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.There is
a very large hydro-electric station at the Niagara Falls. Canada`s main
agricultural products are wheat, meat, some kinds of fruit, especially apples,
and diary products. The provinces of Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, with
their great forests, produce wood for paper- making and buildings.
